These are a few photos I took while we were in OKC on spring break. They are from the Murrah Memorial where the bombing in OKC occurred on April 19th, 1995, thirteen years ago tomorrow.

This is from a local park after we got over five inches of rain Monday. The bridge is a walkway over a creek that normally runs six to eight feet below. This week it has been running a foot or two above. Later I’ll add an “after,” or normal shot. I just have to take it first.

This is Sadie, one of my boxers. Boxers are great dogs. Very intelligent and friendly. Don’t settle for some little ankle biter. Get yourself a real dog like one of these.

These are a couple more from my recent trip to Spain.

The candles were in Esglesia de Santa Maria del Mar (The Church of St. Mary of the Sea)
The arch is one of the oldest parts of Barcelona Cathedral. There are two arch ways which were originally built by the Romans as a part of an aqueduct running through Barcelona. They are the only two arch ways from that aqueduct that have survived to today.

This week we got snow again in the Tulsa area and in memory of that powdery white stuff I’m offering this re-run from last winter.
I don’t remember how I heard about it, but back in November (I think) I saw something promoting an online photo contest at Picture.com and just for the heck of it I submitted this one. I’d forgotten all about it until today when I noticed that I had some e-mail in my spam folder that I hadn’t checked and it was all from Picture.com telling me that my picture had been selected for an Editor’s Choice Award and that I’m 10 votes away from being a finalist in the reader’s choice vote taking place online. Now, they tell me that only 12% of the photos selected receive an Editor’s Choice Award, so that’s pretty cool, but as far as I know everyone who submits a photo gets that e-mail. But they did say that my photo would be published in a book titled Endless Journeys. Of course, they want me to buy the book, so as far as I know all of this is a marketing gimmick to sell their stuff. Nevertheless, if you like this photo and would like to vote for it in the reader’s poll you can do so by following this link.

Due to the December weather our children’s Christmas program at church was rescheduled to this past Sunday night. It was more exciting than this may make it appear. I guess even Gabriel gets tired now and then.
This second pic was taken in Jenks, Oklahoma looking back to the west in the evening sky. Our daughter (the one pictured above) was playing basketball at a fancy new rec center there and this is what we saw as we pulled into the parking lot.
That precise scene will never, ever, be recreated just like that. We may be blessed by our Creator with others that are similar, but never again will we see this one just as it is. It is an amazing privilege we have in our day to be able to capture scenes like this and see them again and again. As I look out the window right now all I see is gray. But I’m reminded that there is also blue, pink and orange and beauty untold. Of course, it’s never as beautiful as it is at that moment and in person. As I got out my camera to take this shot a lady in the parking lot said, "Isn’t it just beautiful! I hope your picture turns out."
Ice Ice Baby - The Photos

A few weeks ago I promised some photos of The Great Ice Storm of 2007. Here they are.
This sad little Pine tree sits on the east edge of our church property. It has now returned to its upright position.
This was from a tree that sits on the west side of our church property. I like the depth of field in this one.
I like the contrasts in this one, even though the light was pretty flat.
