And Paul encourages us to take our thoughts captive to Christ in 2 Corinthians 10 - our thoughts are very important. Every action begins as a thought (except for those God put in us for protection like reflexes).

100 years from now? How about...now? I find it amusing at best that people find drums and guitars controversial, especially in light what the Psalms say about various musical instruments. I would find it strange in our church if there were not drums and guitars.
There was a time when I would spend time arguing with people about it, but now I just don't think it is worth the time.

So true,
If we as Christians spend more time trying to be Christ like and givers, as Christ was a giver, not just necessarly of our money, but our love and time to one another. We would have nothing but good things to say about everyone in our lives. Because the things that we think and meditate on comes out in our daily lives.

Paul,

You're right, and one thing that really hits me about that Ephesians passage is that Paul says that "this is a mystery." I think there's a great value in keeping the mystery in our faith. Even when we don't fully understand it (and, of course, we never do) the calls to us is to continue to trust this incomprehensible God who has, nevertheless, revealed himself to us.

Looking forward to October.

Debbie,

As broken as she sometimes seems, the church is the hope of the world. We do well when we treat her with the utmost care. We can't afford to treat the church just like some sort of social gathering or community organization. I'm glad this resonates with you. Your pastor is blessed to have church members like you.
